Written for the film based on the book by Cormac McCarthy, Nick Cave and Warren Ellis continue their partnership which has spawned music for The Bad Seeds and Grinderman. This somber score sees them providing sparse arrangements, using mainly strings and piano to create bleak soundscapes with an eerie atmosphere. Sound loops, percussion, snatches of feedback and other elements of electronic noise are brought in and out of tracks to unsettle and disturb. This is one of the best soundtracks I have heard for a while.

Niiiice, look forward to giving this a spin. Thanks for keeping our blog alive by the way man, since Christmas I've scarce had time to post!
No problem - at the moment I have the time to do it but am expecting work to pick up in the next couple of weeks which shall cut into my posting. In the meantime, grindcore will have to take a rest!
