The Locust - Plague Soundscapes

Today's grind classic is The Locust's 'Plague Soundscapes'. Anyone that knows this band (or any of bassist/vocalist Justin Pearson's work for that matter) knows that this is an intense, schizophrenic affair, eschewing rhythmic time signatures in favour of making the songs more interesting. Best in their class these boys.

I have some Locust but in my head, I tagged as Experimental-Punk, Noise rock.

Please don't say I am starting to like Grind!

You always liked grind, just didn't know what to call it!

Yeah man just don't try to fight it, let it become one with your being :)

You're an old school punk, I'm surprised you don't love it already!

I think I have just heard the wrong stuff - cannot stand the really, very deep vocals .... does this mean Nasum is not extreme hardocre punk/death metal but in fact another grindcore album I own?

Nasum is grind yes, one of the big names in the scene too. They started with the intention of sounding like old school Napalm Death.

Another grind classic hidden away in your collection.

I don't know if I would call The Locust grind. They're fast but thats about all they have in common with it. They're sort of hard to place because they're so unique.

Spazz Grind I believe is what they are commonly referred to
